A mediocre skiier and mountain biker with a will to ride. The channel aims to showcase trails and ski routes throughout Western Canada, and hopefully inspire others to get out and ride.
Blood, Sweat and Beers - Salmo, BC
Stopped in Salmo BC. Rode a couple of trails. This one is a blue trail. Camped up an FSR. Nice area. Cut a dead tree for firewood.

French Haig Robertson Traverse - More Whiteout Skiing

Another one from Spring 2019. Took a bit of a gamble on this one with the weather, and lost out for the most part. Would be great on a sunny day. The Robertson headwall is definitely the crux of the tour. The Bell Couloir - Sleeping in Pays Off!
Переглядів 787Рік тому
Another one from Spring 2019 that never saw UA-cam - Mt Bell with Heather and D'Arcy. Thankfully, it was the one day we slept in because otherwise we probably would have turned around due to low visibility. Overall a nice tour. The approach is a bit long, but the aspect generally holds good snow, and the couloir (if you can call it that), is nice and wide to accommodate a few groups, or one gro...
Total Whiteout on Niblock

This is from Spring 2019. Starting at the Lake O'hara parking lot, just off the highway, we headed up to Niblock col. We were completely enveloped in thick cloud, but met another awesome group up there and still managed to have a great time skiing blind. Kootenay Pass Pow Party

I was browsing through old footage, to remind myself that it used to snow, and found this footage. It's from last year, Jan 2022. We had some epic conditions. Unfortunately, the not-so-trusty gopro failed me on the third and final day, that also happened to be the most epic - big blue bird pow line on the north side. Still managed to put an edit together. I rode this trail once before, in the 2019 enduro, and it didn't go well so I'm stoked to have returned and ridden everything. It's definitely a single black, but there are a few features that are a bit tricky. The gopro effect is real, but hopefully this vid provides some insight! Hilarious Times and Questionable Decisions - On The Fat Bike

Andrew and I finally got around to trying out Fat Bikes, and oh man did we have some fun. After a warm up on EKG, Odysee, and No Homers, we built up enough confidence to make the poor choice of trying Reclaimer. Too much snow meant we should have kept to the groomed trails, but fun was still had! The fat bikes we rented from Rebound Cycle were awesome. Highly recommend giving it a go. Rebound C...

Big Money - My Favourite Fernie Trail
What a beautiful camping spot there at the end!
Looks like a ton of fun! :)
I'm just leaving Rossland today after 4 days in the area. I didn't make it to Salmo but literally every local I met told me to go ride the ski hill if I had time. I know this track is in a neighbouring network, but it all came highly recommended. A great reason for me ro come back and take a bit more time. Nice riding!
Man I need a dog :( what a great little tow in buddy. Need to get out to Nelson to explore, that is a fun looking trail!
i'm only here for the dog hahaha
Nice to see you're still out ripping around!
Happy you're back, was genuinely concerned about where you were.
I’m glad you’ve recovered and are on your bike again.
Welcome back, Will! And now you've got a trail dog! Gonna be an awesome riding season.
Where the hell have you been man. Is this a permanent return? I hope so 😎let me know when you’re heading to moose mountain next. Would be cool to ride with you again. You still got my number?
i lost a lot of numbers that were on my old phone. shoot me a text!
Glad to see you back on your bike and making videos for us
You need to learn how to pack and slim down your load. Makes a much better experience.
Nice video! I also got the brakes and somehow my front brake or better said my lever on the front feels like it has too much play. Should I do another bleeding or what would you recommend? Thanks, M.
The technology today is amazing so compact and the quality is amazing... how did that peak come by its name?
Do you know how it came by the name video peak?
What's the reason for the different instructions for titanal skis? Is this for any ski with metal layers? Thinking of putting these in some Nordica Enforcers which are notoriously heavy with metal, and I was hoping I could just follow the default instructions 😬
The outside diameter of a binding screw is 5mm and inside diameter is 4mm. Drilling at 3.5 when there is no metal (possibly cf too) layer is ok because the material is compressible and you get a good tight fit. When there is a non compressible layer in the ski, the hole has to be drilled to the size of the screw od. Always use the size recommended on the ski if it’s available.
These are great videos. Should've been in bed an hour ago. Thanks.
Hi
This is probably my favourite trail in Nelson!
Did the BD tube only provide enough glue for 1 skin, or would there of been enough to re-glue both skins aka the set of 2?
1 tube should be enough for two skins. I layed it on too thick in the video.
I’ve reglued 2 pairs of skins with one tube of glue. I put down 3 very thin layers on each skin (don’t want it too thick and gloppy). I feel like the amount he puts on in the video is A LOT! The skins I’ve redone this way stick much better than they did with the factory glue job and are not at all messy or hard to pull apart.
Great video! What time of the year was that?
early march
@@WilltoRide Thanks for your answer! I'm going next february (14 to 20th). Hope I'll be that lucky :)
Modal resonance cancellation meaning they don't sing the song of the people?
Thanks for a great video. which park is better for blue trail riders between fernie and paronama? Thx
I think Fernie has a better assortment of trails for blue trail riders and provides some easier blacks as well. The chair is pretty slow though.
Very nice with the dron intro!
great video man!
Love your videos! Can we see a mountain bike pov of the new trail at the Nordic Center Canmore called “Top Gunn” I would love to see it!
Thanks. Will do
Just bought the purple ones and I'm excited to try these brakes!
This is a great video. Thanks for share each feature. Nice group of guys
oh yah. that crux at the bottom was filled in
side step up dude. who walks in the snow. your not a snowboarder
Very helpful information. Thanks
hello there is a difference with the deore xt (modulation, power) thank you
I only weigh 160lbs, so power wise they were both sufficient for me. The Hayes have better modulation/control and a much nicer lever throw. The smoothness of the lever pull reduces grip/arm fatigue. Ive never experienced brake fade with the Hayes either. They are very consistent too
Came across this video on a rainy afternoon and passed the evening watching more of your content, dreaming of exploring the backcountry in this area. Great content and cool vibes. Keep exploring 👍
Planning to do the crowsnest 100 this year -video really helps with recon - thanks for the work!
Glad it’s helpful. I filmed it for more physio because he was planning to do the same race
That was fun!...soundtrack on point!!
Hello, where was the location of this trip?
Beaver foot area
@@WilltoRide thanks for your reply! Is it a lake close to Beaver Foot Lodge? I'm looking on Google Maps but I can't find a place that resembles it. It looks like an amazing trip!
Ball bearing aren't the best suited for this application
Agreed
This has definitely confirmed my insane desire to combine my two favorite outdoor activities, backpacking and skiing! Can’t wait to plan a trip like this with my dad!
Those are saskatoon berries. Those trails look wild too
I was hoping someone would eventually tell me what they were. Thanks
Is this recent conditions?
no it's from 2019, as noted in the vid description
Lets gooooo
Conviently posted on Bryan’s Birthday 😂🎉
I still need to ski the sav couloir
if only we had the snowpack for this this year 😭
I hear ya
Looks like a lot of fun.
That Laser character has some interesting ski technique!
He has many talents. His speed scootching is pretty impressive too
like big game fishing - catching prime conditions that can be few moments in a season
Well said
Looks all time there! Super cool terrain
Awesome videos! I live just south of the border in Idaho and am planning to come up to Kootenay Pass soon. How does your GoPro thats mounted on the stick out of your backpack swivel and catch your partners riding behind you while you're riding? Your filming captures your adventure really well and the different angles and perspectives keeps the video engaging
Hey thanks for the comment. I was using a 360 camera, so I was able to pan around and get pretty much any pov angle I wanted. Hope you have good trip in the pass!
I'm new to your videos what's the dolphin noise for lol it looked it was for when you did well lol 😆 loving the videos
The dolphins sing when the curses fly. Thought it would help prevent any conflict with UA-cam.
@@WilltoRide oh ok roflmao
good job! I just repacked all the bearings on my (new to me) 2012 Giant trance. I left them all in place without removal as in your example. 1 tip to make the cleanup / repack faster: douse it in degreaser (i also used wd40), then gave it a really good spin using a socket and drill, with the socket pressed against the inner race, then spray again to flush out the crud, then blast it with compressed air. this removes far more dirt, saving you time and uses less wd40. - 2 cycles of this and all crunchiness was eliminated. All my bearings were really tight tolerances, no detectble play so I felt very comfortable re-using them.
that's awesome. thanks for sharing that tip! Will definitely try it next time I service my bearings
Great tip. Also, note that you want to use a non citrus degreaser. I also find that simply compressed air and rubbing alcohol is often good enough to clean the bearings.
Love how calm and peaceful you make these
